BuildSideways

A DriftLab alternative

If DriftLab is not what you needed, here is what is different about this one - and the cases where you should stay where you are.

Stay with DriftLab if

  • It sells something we deliberately do not: a human expert reviewing your specific build, for $35. If you want a person to look at your plan and tell you what is wrong with it, that is a real product and we do not offer it.
  • Its positioning is the sharpest in the category, and it already owns the idea of build sequence as a named feature.
  • It generates install timelines and labour estimates, which we do not.
  • Its make coverage is broader on paper - 14 makes including European and American platforms we have not researched.

Try this instead if

  • You want the build order, with the reasoning attached - what to buy first, what to buy next, and what happens if you skip a phase.
  • You want real named parts with dated prices and a source for each, rather than a generated list you then have to verify yourself.
  • You want compatibility checked against your build rather than against your chassis - because the most-reported cause of wrong-fitment returns is a part that fits a standard car and not a modified one.
  • You want the consumables budgeted. Tires, fluids, pads, fuel and entry fees are roughly a fifth of a real first-year drift budget, and no competitor puts a number on them.
  • You want it free, unlimited, with no login and nothing held back.

What this actually is

BuildSideways is a drift build planner covering 25 chassis, 36 build slots across five phases, 63 priced parts and 21 compatibility rules. Every price is a market range with the date it was checked. Every warning carries a confidence level - verified on this chassis, community-reported, or general principle - and we never claim a fitment guarantee.

It is funded by affiliate commission on some parts links, disclosed on every page, plus optional subscriptions for people running a build across a season. Parts with no affiliate programme are still in the catalogue with plain links, so the plan is never shaped by what pays us.
