What DriftLab is
An AI-powered drift build generator from StreetOutcast, marketing five named AI agents - Fitment, Performance, Budget, Sourcing and Sequence - that cross-check each other, with optional human review.
Pricing as of 2026-10-06: "AI Build Only: $5" for 10 builds, or "AI Build + Fact Check: $35" for 10 builds plus one professional review.
What DriftLab does better
This section exists because a comparison page without one is marketing.
- It sells something we deliberately do not: a human expert reviewing your specific build, for $35. If you want a person to look at your plan and tell you what is wrong with it, that is a real product and we do not offer it.
- Its positioning is the sharpest in the category, and it already owns the idea of build sequence as a named feature.
- It generates install timelines and labour estimates, which we do not.
- Its make coverage is broader on paper - 14 makes including European and American platforms we have not researched.
Where we differ
- The plan is free here, unlimited, with no login. DriftLab gates the full result behind payment and sells builds in packs of ten.
- Our catalogue is curated and cited rather than generated. Every part is a real option with a dated price range and a source; a generated plan is unauditable, and you cannot tell a real part number from a plausible one.
- We name retailers. DriftLab promises "verified vendors" without naming any as of 2026-10-06, which means the prices cannot be checked.
- We publish an affiliate disclosure. We found none on DriftLab.
- We budget consumables - tires, fluids, pads, fuel, entry fees - per event and per season. DriftLab does not.
- Our compatibility rules evaluate against the contents of your build, not the chassis, and each one carries a confidence level rather than an implied certainty.

Is DriftLab worth $5?
If you want install timelines and labour estimates, or you want the option of paying $35 for a human to review the build, it offers things we do not. If what you want is a plan with real named parts, dated prices and sources you can check, that is free here. Both were checked on 2026-10-06 and this category moves fast - verify before you pay.
Why do you not use AI to generate plans?
Because a generated parts list cannot be audited. The point of a build plan is that you act on it with money, and if you cannot tell which part numbers are real you have to verify the whole thing yourself - at which point the plan has not saved you the work. Our catalogue is written, cited and dated instead.
Does BuildSideways offer a human review?
No. We have no credential to stand behind that and we are not going to invent one. What we do instead is publish our sources on every page, so you can check the reasoning rather than trusting the reviewer.
