Refund policy
Short, because it should be.
Last updated 2026-10-07.
30 days, no argument
If you subscribe to Pro or Shop and it is not what you wanted, email support@buildsideways.com within 30 days of the charge and we refund it in full. You do not have to explain, and we will not ask you to get on a call about it.
After 30 days
Cancel any time and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not refund part-used periods after the first 30 days, with three exceptions:
1. We broke it. If the service was unusable for a meaningful part of the period and that was our fault, we refund that period. 2. You were charged by accident. A duplicate charge, a charge after a cancellation, or a charge on an account you did not create. Refunded in full, and we would like to know how it happened. 3. An annual plan you have barely used. If you bought annual, used it for a month or two and want out, ask - we will usually refund the unused months. This is not a right, it is just what we would want someone to do for us.
Trials
The 14-day Pro trial needs no card and charges nothing, so there is nothing to refund. It ends by itself.
The free tier
Free is free. There is no charge to refund, and nothing you build on the free tier is held hostage - you can export it.
How to ask
Email support@buildsideways.com from the address on the account, or use the contact form. Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe and usually land in 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.
Parts you bought from a retailer
We do not sell parts, so we cannot refund them. If you bought something through one of our links and it does not fit or does not work, that is between you and the retailer under their returns policy. Tell us anyway - if the plan sent you to the wrong part, we want to correct the catalogue or downgrade its confidence level, and that is the single most useful message you can send us.
