S15 angle kits and wheel offset

What fits, what rubs, and what the offset window becomes once a kit is on. The single most fitment-sensitive purchase in a drift build.

The offset window

Windows that commonly clear on a standard-bodied S15. Starting points, not guarantees - measure at full lock with the suspension loaded.

Rear9-10.5in0 to 30mmunchanged

5x114.3 from the factory, which is one practical advantage over an early S13. These windows commonly clear on a stock-bodied car and are a starting point, not a guarantee. Measure at full lock with the suspension loaded, and test with a spacer before committing to a set.

Angle kits on a S15

Well supported - most manufacturers cover S13, S14 and S15 in the same product line, and Wisefab, GKTech and Parts Shop Max all list S15 kits. Because the chassis is RHD-only, there is no steering-side ambiguity, which removes the most common S-chassis ordering mistake. Everything else is the same: do the Phase 0 steering work first, align immediately afterwards, and expect the offset window to move.

Prices are market ranges with the date they were checked, not live quotes. We do not have a live price feed, so we show you a range and send you to the retailer for the real number rather than pretending to know it.

How we make money, plainly. Some parts links earn us a commission. Parts with no affiliate option are still listed, with a plain link, so the plan is never shaped by what pays us. We do not take payment for placement, and the budget pick is labelled as the budget pick even when the expensive one pays more. Full disclosure.

Before you fit one

An angle kit is in phase 2 of the build order, and the two things that come before it are not negotiable. The first is the phase 0 steering and suspension wear item: play in the tie rod ends, inner tie rods, ball joints or the rack gives back exactly the precision the kit is supposed to buy, and at full lock those parts are carrying loads the factory never designed for. The second is the phase 1 locked differential, because without it the extra lock has nothing to do.

After it, immediately: a drift alignment, and the roll centre and bumpsteer correction that most kits either include or assume. Do all of that in one go and you pay for one alignment instead of three.

Signs to stop and diagnose rather than keep driving: metallic contact noise, steering resistance that varies through the travel, the wheel touching another component, or witness marks on the arms, liners or tires. Excessive tire wear and tramlining are the slower symptoms of geometry that is not right.

Questions

What offset do I need with an angle kit on a S15?

Standard-bodied cars commonly clear 10mm to 40mm at the front. Fitting an angle kit moves the usable window out by roughly 10mm, to about 0mm to 30mm. That is a starting point, not a guarantee - ride height, camber, tire profile and which kit you chose all move it.

Why do my wheels rub at full lock?

Because more lock swings the wheel through a much larger arc than the factory geometry ever did, so an offset that cleared before can now foul the control arm, the tie rod or the inner arch. Published angle-kit guidance is blunt about it: large steering angle is not an advantage if the wheel rubs the body or the tie rod works at extreme angles. Lower offset or a spacer is the usual fix, and rolling or trimming the liner is the next step.

Do I need an alignment after fitting an angle kit?

Yes, and this is not optional. The kit changes caster, camber, Ackermann and roll centre, and until the car is aligned to drift numbers none of those are where the designer intended. The usual symptom is a car that turns in differently left and right and tramlines on the straight.

Is an angle kit worth it on a S15?

Well supported - most manufacturers cover S13, S14 and S15 in the same product line, and Wisefab, GKTech and Parts Shop Max all list S15 kits. Because the chassis is RHD-only, there is no steering-side ambiguity, which removes the most common S-chassis ordering mistake.
